Welcome to H.E.R. Life Hacks. H.E.R. stands for Home Economics Re-imagined. I started out my career as a Home Economics teacher, but the home economics I learned when I first started out needed to evolve to fit today's lifestyles.
People are too busy to make their own clothes or raise and cook all their food. But many are seeking a simpler lifestyle, while going back to the basics of whole foods that provide health-promoting nutrition. And many want to slow down and enjoy their lives in a way that is more intentional. They are tired of life being something that just happens to them as they react to situations that develop along the way.
Therefore, I have re-imagined the home economics of the 70’s and 80’s to focus on tips and hacks to save you time, money and headaches in three overarching areas – Home Style, which includes managing a home and designing it with style, comfort and budget in mind; Lifestyle, which includes designating time to enjoy family and friends and giving yourself the gift of doing that within your intentional goals; and Food, which means healthy and simple comfort foods for home cooking and making healthier choices when eating out.
So, I hope you'll join me on this journey of a life lived with your own defined intent. I have lots of ideas and tips to share with you.

Living an intentional life begins with defining what you actually want out of life. All too often, life is something we let happen to us, instead of being created and molded by conscious decisions.
What is your life like? Is it busy with work, kid’s activities and housework? Do you plan your day and then implement your plan? Or does your day seem to plan itself, as urgent things pop up to disrupt your day?
Lifestyle is about designating time to enjoy family and friends and giving yourself the gift of doing that within your intentional goals. It means taking care of yourself so you can take care of your family.
